How do I treat small dots of fat below my eyes? (Beauty query of the day)

I am a 20-year-old male and I have small dots of fat below my eyes. Is there any solution to prevent these? I also have dark spots on my forehead and around my eyes. How can I reduce them?

Answered by our expert Dr Shefali Trasi Nerurkar.

Firstly, you need to get your lipid profile done (cholesterol level). The fat spots can be treated with the help of radiofrequency machine.

For your dark spots, you or the skin specialist first needs to find out the cause. If they are due to sun allergy, you need to ensure you wear a good sunscreen and a cream containing hydrocortisone. If it's fungal infection then use anti-fungal creams. And, if it's plain hyperpigmentation then use depigmenting creams containing kojic acid, arbutin.

Always apply sunscreen before you go out in the sun and carry an umbrella to further protect your skin from the harmful UV rays. You can also try home remedies like applying the juice of lemon, tomato, aloe vera gel or raw milk on the affected area every day to lighten the spots. But remember, do not apply them especially lemon juice and then step out in the sun as that will only make the spots darker.
