2013 South Indian International Movie Awards - Day 1
Day 1 of 2013 South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA), held in Sharjah, UAE, saw the who's who of south Indian film industry in attendance.
Dhanush, Asin, Shruti Haasan, Kajal Aggarwal, Amala Paul, Hansika Motwani, Shriya Saran, Charmee Kaur, Trisha, Priyamani, Nithya Menon, Pooja Gandhi, Reema Sen, Lakshmi Manchu, Remya Nambeesan, Rima Kallingal, Regina Cassandra, Lakshmi Menon, Rana Daggubati, Vidyut Jamwal, Vikram Prabhu, Allu Sirish, Navdeep, Harris Jayaraj, Lingusamy among others were present at 2013 SIIMA.
The technical, music and gen next awards were handed out on Day 1.
In the Tamil category, the prominent winners of Day 1 were Dhanush (Best Lyricist and Best Male Playback Singer - '3'), Harris Jayaraj (Best Music Director - 'Thuppakki'), Vikram Prabhu (Best Debutant Actor - 'Kumki'), Lakshmi Menon (Best Debutant Actress - 'Sundarapandian'), Karthik Subburaj (Best Debutant Director - 'Pizza'), Saindhavi (Best Female Playback Singer Thandavam') and Sukumar (Best Cinematographer - 'Kumki').
In the Telugu category, the prominent winners were Devi Sri Prasad (Best Music Director - 'Gabbar Singh'), Thaman S (Best Male Playback Singer - 'Business Man'), Sudheer Babu (Best Debutant Actor - 'Siva Manasulo Sruthi'), Regina Cassandra (Best Debutant Actress - 'Siva Manasulo Sruthi') and Maruthi (Best Debutant Director - 'Ee Rojullo').
In the Malayalam and Kannada category, the prominent winners were Dulquer Salmaan (Best Debutant Actor - 'Second Show') Remya Nambeesan (Best Female Playback Singer - 'Ivan Mefharoopan'), Vijay Yesudas (Best Male Playback Singer - 'Spirit'), Parul Yadav (Best Debutant Actress - 'Govindaya Namaha'), AP Arjun (Best Lyricist - 'Addhoori') and Arjun Janya (Best Music Director - 'Romeo').
The Gen Next Awards were handed out to Kajal Agrawal (Youth Icon of South Indian Cinema), Asin (Pride of South Indian Cinema), Nithya Menon (Rising Star of South Indian Cinema), Diganth (Romantic Star of South Indian Cinema), Udhayanidhi Stalin (Sensational Debut of the Year) and Shruti Haasan (Stylish Actress of South Indian Cinema).
